Terms of use

The agreement between you and us when you use HumanGPT, including how words, plans and Pro subscriptions work and what the app may be used for.

Last updated 8 October 2026

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Evolution Games GmbH, Breiteharthstr. 14, 35232 Dautphetal, Germany ("we", "us"), about the HumanGPT – AI Humanizer Text app ("HumanGPT") and the online services behind it. By downloading or using the app you accept them. If you don't accept them, please don't use the app.

Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.

2. What HumanGPT does, and what it doesn't

HumanGPT is a writing tool. When you ask, it sends your text to an AI model that rewrites it in the tone, strength and text type you choose, then runs a fact check that compares the rewrite with your original. It can also estimate how strongly a text follows patterns common in AI-generated writing, sentence by sentence.

  • The AI-likeness estimate is an estimate. It describes writing patterns and isn't a judgment about who or what wrote a text.
  • The fact check looks for numbers, names, quotes and citations that changed or went missing. It can't catch every change in meaning, so read the result before you use it.
  • We make no promise about how any reader, teacher, publisher or automated system will assess text you've edited with the app.

3. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian, who also accepts these terms for you. If you use a device managed by a school or employer, their rules apply too.

4. Your account

The app creates an anonymous account the first time you open it, so you don't need an email address or password. You can sign in with Apple or Google at any time to keep your documents across devices; this is optional and never required to buy Pro. If you sign in with an account that already exists in HumanGPT, the documents from your anonymous account are moved into it and the anonymous account is closed.

Keep your device and sign-in secure, because anyone with access to them can use your account. You can delete your account and its data at any time in Settings.

5. Words, plans and limits

You use the service by spending words. A word is any run of characters between spaces that contains at least one letter or digit, and our server's count is the one that applies. A humanize run costs the number of words in the text you send; the length of the rewrite doesn't count. Rewriting a single sentence costs that sentence's words. The onboarding demo run and AI-likeness checks cost no words.

  • Days run from midnight to midnight UTC. Pro weeks start every Monday at 00:00 UTC. Unused words don't carry over and have no cash value.
  • Pro's weekly allowance is for your own personal or professional writing and is subject to fair use. If use looks automated, shared or resold, we may contact you and limit or suspend the account (see section 7).
  • A single text can have up to 30,000 characters and needs at least 3 words. On Pro, longer texts can be split into parts, and each part is a run that uses its own words.
  • One run is processed at a time per account. If a run fails on our side, the words it reserved go back to you automatically.
  • To keep the service available and affordable, we may pause requests when total demand reaches our daily capacity or during maintenance.

We may change these limits. If we do, we'll update this page and the app before the change takes effect.

6. Pro subscriptions

HumanGPT Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's App Store, in the subscription group "PRO". There are two plans:

  • Weekly: $5.99 per week, with a 3-day free trial for eligible new subscribers.
  • Yearly: $39.99 per year.

These are US prices. The price in your currency, the billing period and any trial are shown in the app before you confirm the purchase, and they can vary by country or region.

Payment

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase or, if you start with a free trial, when the trial ends.

Auto-renewal

Your subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.

Free trial

Apple decides who is eligible for the free trial. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid weekly subscription and your Apple ID account is charged the weekly price. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.

Managing and cancelling

You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings: on iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. You can also get there from Manage subscription in the app's Settings. Apple explains the steps in Cancel a subscription from Apple. When you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel a subscription.

Refunds

Apple handles all billing, so we can't issue refunds for App Store purchases ourselves. You can ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com; see Apple's refund guide. Your statutory rights as a consumer aren't affected.

Price changes

If the price of your subscription changes, Apple will tell you in advance and, where the law or Apple's rules require it, ask you to agree before you're charged the new price.

Restoring purchases

If you reinstall the app or move to a new iPhone, tap Restore on the subscription screen or in Settings while signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID.

7. Acceptable use and academic integrity

Follow the rules of your school or workplace.

Use HumanGPT on drafts you wrote or on text you have the right to edit. You're responsible for following the rules that apply to your writing, including your school's academic integrity policy, your employer's policies and any publisher's guidelines. If those rules restrict AI tools or ask you to disclose AI help, follow them.

You agree not to use HumanGPT to:

  • submit work as your own where the rules that apply to it forbid AI assistance;
  • pass off someone else's work as yours, or remove signs of authorship from work that isn't yours;
  • create spam, fake reviews, impersonations, disinformation, phishing or other deceptive content;
  • process content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or contains other people's personal data without a lawful reason;
  • harass, threaten or harm anyone, or create content that breaks the usage policy of our AI model provider;
  • get around plan limits or feature gates, for example by creating many accounts, automating requests, scripting the app, sharing an account or reselling access;
  • probe, overload or interfere with our systems, reverse engineer the app, or try to extract our instructions to the AI model.

We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.

8. Your content and documents

You keep all rights to the text you put into the app. You give us a limited permission to store, process and transmit it, including to our AI processing provider, only to provide the service, keep your documents in sync, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. You confirm you have the rights needed to do this.

As between you and us, the rewrite belongs to you. AI models can produce similar output for other people, so we can't promise that a rewrite is unique. Documents are kept until you delete them or your account. Keep your own copy of anything important.

9. AI output

Rewrites, fact checks and AI-likeness estimates are produced with AI models and can be inaccurate or incomplete, or can change your meaning. Check every result before you rely on it or share it. Output isn't professional, legal, medical or academic advice.

10. Our app and credits

We or our licensors own the app, its design and its content. Subject to these terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by Apple's Usage Rules.

The rewriting approach is adapted from humanizer by Siqi Chen, released under the MIT License. The pattern checklist is based on Wikipedia's Signs of AI writing, maintained by WikiProject AI Cleanup. Open-source components in the app remain under their own licenses. HumanGPT is not affiliated with OpenAI.

11. Third-party services

Some features rely on other companies. AI processing is provided by Replicate, which runs Anthropic's Claude models, and your use must also respect Anthropic's usage policy. Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In are subject to Apple's and Google's terms. To import a Google Doc, you share it by link, and you're responsible for what you share. We aren't responsible for third-party services, websites or documents you link to or import.

12. App Store terms

Unless the App Store listing shows a different license agreement for the app, your license to use the app is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA). These terms add to it. If the two conflict about your license to the app, the Standard EULA applies. If you got the app from the App Store, you also acknowledge that:

  • these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content;
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app;
  • if the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app;
  • Apple isn't responsible for addressing claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws;
  • if someone claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging the claim;
  • you aren't located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and you aren't on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties;
  • you'll comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile data agreement;
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you once you accept them.

13. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service running, but it can be interrupted by maintenance, outages at our providers or capacity limits. We may change, add or remove features. If we stop offering Pro, we'll stop future renewals and tell you in the app.

14. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect the service or other users. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why. Sections 8, 9 and 15 to 17 continue to apply after your access ends.

15. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, the app and the service are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including warranties that output will be accurate, original or fit for a particular purpose, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some jurisdictions don't allow these exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

16. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, for lost profits or data, or for academic, professional or other consequences of how you use the output. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for subscriptions in the 12 months before the claim and 50 euros.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, fraud, or under mandatory consumer protection or product liability law.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Evolution Games GmbH has its registered office (see the legal notice), excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using the app after that, the updated terms apply. If you don't agree with them, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.
